Navas: I have same desire to leave Real Madrid as to die

Spain's Kepa Arrizabalaga became the most expensive goalkeeper in history on Wednesday after Chelsea confirmed his €80 million (£71.6 million, US$92 million) move from Athletic Bilbao.

Courtois, who is now into the final 12 months of his contract at Stamford Bridge, wants to move to the Spanish giants.

Kepa made his global debut for Spain in November, keeping a clean sheet in a friendly win over Costa Rica, and was named to the Spain squad for the World Cup in Russian Federation this summer, though he didn't play.

Chelsea have only been willing to sell Courtois once they have a replacement on the books. The midfielder will join Jorginho in Chelsea's midfield who joined the Blues from Napoli.

Kepa was close to joining Madrid for as little as €20m in January, but the deal was blocked by then-coach Zinedine Zidane, and Athletic responded by committing their prized asset to a new long-term contract, which increased his buyout figure to €80m. He came through the youth categories at Genk, he made his debut with the first team in the 2008/09 season and settled there for two seasons.

Hazard has been strongly touted as a target for Real Madrid this summer but there is yet to be any official confirmation of the Spanish club's interest in signing him.

"Athletic thank the player for his contribution throughout the time he has been at the club".

However, speculation over that transfer has cooled in recent weeks and it appears the 27-year-old will begin his seventh season with Chelsea when their Premier League campaign starts at Huddersfield Town this weekend.

Manager Maurizio Sarri will be hoping to get this one done and dusted before the transfer deadline tomorrow and with the 23-year-old Arrizabalaga close to signing, he will secure one of Europe's top young talents.

Real Madrid have confirmed that Courtois will undergo a medical on Thursday morning, before signing a six-year deal and being presented at 1pm local time (midday BST).
