British couple sickened by same poison used on Russian spy

British forensic investigators are continuing to search for the source of the lethal nerve agent that poisoned two people who are hospitalized in critical condition.

Police have been unable to locate the source of the contamination and have warned that they can not rule out more people falling ill.

Double Russian agent Sergei Skripal has been found unconscious after being exposed to an unknown substance. "It is something different, it could be on that bench.it makes me anxious".

Britain accused Russian Federation of poisoning Skripal with Novichok nerve agent, the first known offensive use of such a chemical weapon on European soil since World War Two.

The Russians have denied these claims, and have accused the United Kingdom of staging the entire thing just to make Russia look bad.

"It is completely unacceptable for our people to be either deliberate or accidental targets", Javid told Parliament, adding that it was also unacceptable for British streets or parks to be "dumping grounds for poison".

The Russian Embassy hit back, accusing the Government of trying to "muddy the waters" and "frighten its own citizens".

A March assessment by the British government found that the Russian state was most likely responsible for the Skripals' poisoning.

Although he is not directly involved with the current investigation, he said that "from what I understand, this is debris or collateral from the original attack, possibly contained in a syringe or medical container".

Developed in the then-Soviet Union in the 1970s, the paralyzing compound - which can be absorbed through the skin - had been placed on the Skripals' front door in what is widely considered to have been an assassination attempt by the current Russian state security agency.

The Met Police insists the focus of their inquiry is to find the source and are tracing the movements of Charlie Rowley and Dawn Sturgess.

The Porton Down lab confirmed on Wednesday that the victims had been exposed to novichok.

Two people in camouflage protective clothing entered the John Baker House assisted-living accommodation in Salisbury, where mother-of-three Dawn Sturgess, lives after they took a sample from the outside of the building shortly after 3pm yesterday.

Mr. Basu said that around 100 detectives from the Counter Terrorism Policing Network are now working on this investigation, alongside colleagues from Wiltshire Police.

They are also searching other sites visited by the pair before they were taken to hospital.

-1.45 p.m. He visits the Amesbury Baptist Centre on Butterfield Drive.

Hours later, an ambulance was called at around 0915 GMT to treat a woman who had lost consciousness at a house in Muggleton Road in Amesbury, where Hobson said Rowley lived. Still, residents could not contain their unease with a second brush with Novichok, even though public health officials said the risk of contamination to anyone was very low.
