New York Yankees Shareholder Preparing £75m Aston Villa Bid

Newcastle United are reportedly monitoring Aston Villa and England Under-21 winger Jack Grealish amid the unfolding financial situation at Villa Park.

Further, struggles to pay a £4.2m tax bill owed to HM Revenue & Customs have left fans feeling a bit blue about things.

The Sky Bet Championship club have not given a reason for the suspension which takes place with immediate effect.

The club were this week threatened with a winding-up order by HMRC after failing to make a tax payment, whilst Keith Wyness was also suspended after clashing with Xia over the financial problems.

News of Wyness' suspension will come as a crushing blow to Villa, with the club having narrowly missed out on promotion back to the riches of the Premier League.

The agreement will allow the club, who missed out on a Premier League return after losing to Fulham in the play-off final at Wembley, to continue day-to-day operations.

Grealish is close friends with Dele and, although he is a boyhood Villa fan, the 22 year-old is likely to find the prospect of joining Tottenham and working under Pochettino appealing. Whilst this may at least be a move in the right direction it would be extremely optimistic to see this as anything other than a short-term measure.

Aston Villa have been threatened with a winding-up order as a financial crisis looms over the club.

The club says there are "plans are now being put in place to move the club forward" - it's no exaggeration to say these "plans" are the key to the immediate future of Aston Villa Football Club.
