Killing of suspended teacher was a 'crime of passion,' investigators say

Officials there had received an anonymous email containing a police report saying DelTondo had been found in a parked auto with a 17-year-old former student.

Reportedly, her name was sometimes misspelled as "Rachel" in certain media publications concerning the story.

The coroner ruled her death a homicide, saying she died of multiple gunshot wounds to her chest.

"I counted six shots that I heard", neighbour Fred Poore told local media.

But investigators believe DelTondo knew her assailant, and that the evidence will show her murder was "a crime of passion".

KDKA cites sources saying the alleged police leak about DelTondo also prompted a Pa. state police investigation of the Aliquippa Police, with DelTondo cooperating.

Ms DelTonda is pictured with her partner in 2015.

"It's shameful that this woman was painted with a police report that had been written that did not result in criminal charges", Lozier told the news station.

She died in the driveway.

A family member said DelTondo was returning home from getting ice cream with a friend and was shot as she got out of the auto.

It's a shock and a mystery to neighbors on the quiet street. The email pointed to the police report and said that DelTondo was in a "relationship" with the boy. I really don't, ' said Dan Casper, a neighbor, who described the 32-year-old as a 'beautiful lady, friendly, knew everybody, talked to everybody'. She said she didn't want her fiance to know because he would get mad. School officials only found out about the incident in October 2017, and later learned that the teenager was never a student at PA Cyber. Hayden said the student did not attend the online public school. The report was not public knowledge until the anonymous email was sent in October a year ago.

Brian Hayden, the CEO of Pennsylvania Cyber Charter School, released a statement about DelTondo's death. "We have an active group with the Pennsylvania State Police, the Beaver County Detective Bureau and the Aliquippa Police Department working very hard together", Lozier said. We are downloading information. "We express our sympathy to her family and coworkers and will support them in any way possible in the weeks and months ahead as they mourn her passing".

Last year, DelTondo was featured on a Get Marty report in a dispute over her custom wedding dress. DelTondo then retreated back to her vehicle and "left the area", according to the report.

DelTondo's fiancé reportedly called off the wedding several months after the 2016 incident. Her mom, Lisa DelTondo, bought her a $10,000 wedding dress from Anne Gregory Bridal in Dormont.
