'13 Reasons Why' Season 2 trailer released

This season will not be centered on cassette tapes, but instead, polaroid photos that will help direct an investigation into not only Hannah's death but also the rapes of Hannah and Jessica (Alisha Boe).

The trailer for "13 Reasons Why" season 2 has arrived. Dylan Minnette, Katherine Langford, and Kate Walsh reprise their roles.

After Clay sees a vision of Hannah in his bedroom that asks him what he's going to do about it, Clay is now on a mission to get justice for Hannah, but for all the other girls who were abused too.

Watch the trailer in full in the video above. According to creator and showrunner Brian Yorkey, the second season will explore the "ways that sexual assault has been perpetrated over a number of years and has been in fact documented, and also the ways in which the institutions - the athletic department, the high school itself - are in some ways complicit in letting that happen".

The cast and crew finished filming season two at the end of 2017, executive producer Selena Gomez revealed on Instagram. "I've said a few times that this show is about the way we raise boys up into men and the way we treat girls and women in our culture - and what we could do better in both cases".

There are some things we already know about the new season.

The intense trailer gives fans a first look at all the storylines going on in the upcoming season, which premieres next Friday, May 18th.

Here's the official Netflix-issued synopsis for 13 Reasons Why season 2: "13 Reasons Why continues in the aftermath of Hannah's death and the start of our characters' complicated journeys toward healing and recovery".

As the high school prepares to go to trial against the Baker family, some truth surrounding Hannah's death is itching to come out while a stack of polaroids leads Clay and the gang to find the secret and what was covering it up.

The rest of the teaser features Clay, Jessica and other students trying to piece together clues from a collection of ominous Polaroids, including one with the message, "He won't stop".
