Tom Brokaw Denies Former Reporter's Sexual-Harassment Allegations

Tom Brokaw is being accused of sexual misconduct by a former NBC correspondent. The university said that they "respect and agree with Mr. Brokaw's decision", and announced that the new commencement speaker would be Trump cabinet member Linda McMahon.

"It is 4:00 am on the first day of my new life as an accused predator in the universe of American journalism", he began.

In a statement to The Post, Vester's lawyer said that "my client stands by the allegations which speak for themselves".

Tom Brokaw is raking up support from female journalists amid allegations he sexually harassed former NBC News employees across four decades.

"My NBC colleagues are bewildered that Vester, who had limited success at NBC News, a modest career at Fox and a reputation as a colleague who had trouble with the truth, was suddenly the keeper of the flame of journalistic integrity".

Brokaw, who anchored NBC Nightly News from 1982 to 2004 and now serves as a special correspondent for the company, said he was "facing a long list of grievances from a former colleague who left NBC News angry that she had failed in her pursuit of stardom". He offered a contrasting account of his meetings with Ms. Vester, denying that he touched her beyond "a perfunctory goodnight kiss". Vester, the Washington Post and Variety can not diminish that.

Brokaw reportedly tried to kiss her in a later incident that reportedly took place in New York City.

"She couldn't pick up the phone and say, 'I'd like to talk".

CBS News was unable to reach NBC for comment.

Brokaw, now 78, denied any wrongdoing in statements provided to the Post and Variety. Even after the incident, Brokaw said, Vester was the one that invited him to a drink in London, during which Vester alleges another incident took place. "I should not have gone but I emphatically did not verbally and physically attack her and suggest an affair in language right out of pulp fiction". She also mentioned she was Catholic as a way of rebuffing his advances. "I was shocked to feel the amount of force and his full strength on me".

Vester left Fox in the mid-2000s to look after her children full-time. Two friends who Vester told at the time corroborated her story with Variety, and she shared her journal entries from the time period.

"A woman approached me and asked me tearfully if I could help her", Curry told the Post.

He said NBC has been conducting a review with a team of legal and human resource leaders which "is nearing its conclusion, and we will have findings and further steps to share with you as soon as next week".
