Barbara Bush is in "failing health" according to family spokesperson

Barbara Bush is in

Barbara Bush, the 92-year-old First Lady, is in failing health and has now made a decision to stop receiving any further medical care, transitioning to "comfort care", according to a statement from the Office of George H.W. Bush. Jim McGrath, who issued a statement, said that she is surrounded by a familyand appreciates the messages and prayers she's been receiving from people.

McGrath did not elaborate as to the nature of Bush's health problems.

CNN has reported that she has been suffering from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (also known as COPD) and also congestive heart failure.

The office of George H.W. Bush released a statement Sunday. On Valentine's Day 2017, the George H.W. Bush Library and Museum released a letter from its vault that could melt a heart of stone.

Former U.S. Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison, now ambassador to North Atlantic Treaty Organisation, tweeted that Bush is "one of America's most loved women", and that "I join thousands in hoping she is comfortable and knows how loved she is throughout the world!"

George H.W. was on his way to becoming the youngest pilot in the Navy. "I'm not sure God will recognize me; I have so many new body parts!" Bush read a children's book and introduced the patients to her dog during the visit. Abigail Adams was the wife of the second president, John Adams, and mother of the sixth president, John Quincy Adams.

They had six children but daughter Robin died of leukemia at the age of 4.

Granddaughter Jenna Bush Hager posted a photo to Instagram earlier this week showing the four generations of Bush women. She later said that dyed hair didn't look good on her and credited the color to the public's perception of her as "everybody's grandmother". The candid admission only bolstered her common sense and down-to-earth public image.

Rep. Sean Maloney, D-N.Y., paid tribute to Bush as "a graceful First Lady who has dedicated her life to improving education and promoting literacy", while Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan called her "an incredible First Lady and a great American".
