Spider-Man PS4 Release Date Revealed

Spider-Man PS4 Release Date Revealed

Marvel's Spider-Man, the highly anticipated PlayStation 4 game based on the world of the web-slinger, is officially coming to the console this September 7.

We knew it was coming at some point in 2018, but later on this afternoon we should learn the official release date for Insomniac Games' open-world PS4 exclusive, Spider-Man. It's all about being authentic to Spider-Man, and from what we've seen so far, September 7 can't come fast enough. Until now the details have been scarce but that seems to be ending soon because recently GameInformer announced that their story for the May 2018 issue of the magazine is all about Spider-Man.

As for the Collector's Edition, it's going to be priced with an MSRP of $149.99. That's exactly what they want to achieve with this game. Insomniac mentioned that the content would have "new missions, new villains and characters, and additional suits". It will be available in three flavors: standard ($59.99), digital deluxe ($79.99) and collector's edition ($150). Residents in the USA and Canada who pre-order this edition will also receive a collectible pin via mail as an additional bonus.

This has lead many excited fans to become sceptical about how the game might look when it comes to the original PS4. Judging by the list of details, though, Insomniac are investing heavily in the RPG-lite mechanics for Spider-Man. It's possible that this is a result of needing to "level up" Spider-Man in much the same way we had to back in the Spider-Man 2 days. In a new preorder trailer from Sony, you can get a good look at Peter in action while also receiving a glimpse at some of the bonuses you'll get if you preorder a copy today.

Are you pumped to play Spider-Man? Let us know in the comments section! You can now pre-order the digital Standard Edition or the Digital Deluxe Edition from the PlayStation Store.
