Bombs disguised as rocks in Yemen show Iranian aid

The missile unit of the Yemeni army announced on Monday that in keeping with the promise of the leader of Yemen's Houthi Ansarullah movement, the unit had fired seven ballistic missiles at Saudi targets the night before. Le Drian's comments came days before an official visit to France by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

Although, this is of course worrying, the Iranian-Houthi forces are too weak to pose any threat to Saudi Arabia and it fact galvanises the opposition to Iran. One of the missiles caused the war's first casualties in the Saudi capital Riyadh when falling debris struck a home and killed an Egyptian man and injured two others.

The group further reported that drones used by the Houthi rebels to crash into Patriot missile batteries in Saudi Arabia share "near-identical design and construction characteristics" of Iranian drones. "You can't really deny this anymore once the components these things are made with are traced to Iranian distributors".

The senior Iranian official added that the Saudi regime should "abandon adventurism and warmongering and engage in constructive political dialog with Yemen, which is its neighbor, while respecting the people's rights".

The money was from both Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, which is Riyadh's main ally in the destructive war on Yemen.

These attacks prove that Saudi Arabia and the Coalition must continue fighting to restore the legitimate government in Yemen and liberate the capital from the hands of terrorists.

This prompted the Saudi-led coalition to intervene militarily on March 26, 2015.

"They may make similar moves in order to be seen to be doing something, but it won't really change the dynamics of the conflict", said Jane Kinninmont, Middle East expert at Chatham House in London.

Last year, when the Houthis fired missiles at Riyadh that were intercepted, the coalition responded by shutting Yemen's airports and ports. "He tried to convince me that Israel should attack Iran".

Western countries have urged Saudi Arabia and its Gulf Arab allies to protect civilians and find a quick end to Yemen's war.

The policy statements from Washington, the brand new regiment of sanctions and the appointment of incoming national security adviser, John Bolton - a foreign policy radical, who unequivocally supports wars with Iran and North Korea, indicates the Trump administration's readiness to take on Tehran.
