Another round of rain on the way

There will be a break in the showers through the day.

"We expect heavy snow showers to start developing in places from midweek; many northern and western areas will be at most risk from Wednesday". Some light snow is possible Thursday night as a weak wave of energy scoots through the region. Unfortunately, the warmer temperatures will come with a price, and that is more clouds and some occasional showers as early as late today and then continuing on and off through early Friday.

The bitterly cold weather could clash with heavy rain and wintery showers, which could trigger "thundersnow" - eruptions of heavy snowfall, thunder and lightning.

Weather on Wednesday is hot, dry and dusty with a drop in temperature while remaining eight degrees Celsius above the annual average, according to the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).

Clouds got thicker all day Tuesday but highs were still able to make it into the 40s. "In total, 2-3" of rain is likely and locally higher totals can't be ruled out, especially in NW Alabama. Highs will be around 50 degrees both Thursday and Friday with cooler 40s both Saturday and Easter Sunday.

Showers, or a wintry mix in some higher elevations, may threaten early Monday, otherwise it is dry into early Tuesday. Highs Thursday rise into the lower 60s then only fall back to the 50s overnight. Highs should reach the low 50s, but some mid to upper 50s are possible south and east of Marathon County. South winds will speed up the warming process through the morning and afternoon.

SATURDAY: Mostly sunny skies and mild weather is likely.

This year, outlooks suggest we may have an average high of just 52 degrees through the first 10 days of April, with an average (overnight) low around 32 degrees. In fact, it looks like a day best spent indoors.
