Terrelle Pryor to Jets: WR picks NY over Seahawks, Browns

The Jets beat out stiff competition from the Seattle Seahawks, as well as the Cleveland Browns for Pryor's signature. In 2015 he decided that it was time to switch positions and he became a wide receiver.

Meanwhile in NY, the Jets have settled on Pryor as an addition to their receiving corps with the former Washington Redskins wide receiver signing on at MetLife Stadium.

It cost NY multiple second-round picks too (including one in the 2019 draft) but puts them in prime position to draft a franchise quarterback. After all, he posted a 1,000-yard season in 2016 with Cleveland, and he has the 6-foot-6 frame and athletic ability to be a No. 1 receiver. Perhaps Pryor will ultimately fit into New York's long-term plans. As a free-agent, he signed with Washington on a "prove-it" deal for one-year, eight million last off-season.

They could offer him a similar one-year deal to what the Redskins gave him last year, and Pryor would likely jump at the chance to have that type of deal.

The ankle injury dated back to Washington's 27-20 win over the Los Angeles Rams in Week 2, and it could partly explain why he had such a poor 2017. Thus, letting Pryor go was absolutely the right move, and they well could be better off without him. So, Pryor's days in D.C. are officially over. NY already has Robby Anderson, Jermaine Kearse, Quincy Enunwa and youngsters ArDarius Stewart and Chad Hansen.

The Jets have also shown interest in former Jacksonville Jaguars receiver Allen Hurns, but Hurns' visit to Florham Park, N.J. was put on hold due to weather.

It would appear Pryor's relatively strong receiving numbers in his final season with the Browns didn't accurately reflect his true value, and his one year with Washington did little to discredit that narrative.

The Jets reportedly edged Seattle and Cleveland in signing Pryor late Thursday night.
