Packers will have 12 picks in 2018 National Football League draft

The Arizona Cardinals were awarded three compensatory draft picks on Friday for their net losses in free agency. While the Cardinals don't have their own pick in that round, they will still be selecting in the fourth with one of its compensatory picks.

Prior to 2018, the Chargers have had five compensatory draft picks since 2010: A fifth-rounder in 2016, a seventh-rounder in 2012, a sixth-rounder and seventh-rounder in 2011 and a fifth-rounder in 2010. Four compensatory selections is the maximum that any team can receive.

Green Bay lost the following free agents in 2017: Jared Cook, Micah Hyde, Eddie Lacy, T.J. Lang, Julius Peppers, and J.C. Tretter.

Their draft stock includes the No. 5 overall pick as well as No. 40, No. 71 and No. 99. The most prominent player the Buccaneers have drafted using a compensatory pick is linebacker Alshermond Singleton, a 1997 fourth-round selection who started at strongside linebacker for the 2002 Super Bowl team.

With three selections, they did not get the most picks.

The Giants also qualified for a second compensatory pick, but because of the limit of 32, those who fell on the outside weren't awarded the additional picks.

All four extra picks will come in the sixth round, with the Raiders receiving the 36th (210th overall), 38th (212th overall), 42nd (216th overall) and 43rd (217th overall) selections in the round.

Compensatory picks are slotted between the third and seventh rounds.
