BB&T reports outages in ATM services, digital banking

BB&T did not state when they expect services to go online.

A BB&T outage left millions of customers unable to access their accounts across the U.S.

BB&T cited "an equipment malfunction in one our data centers" as the cause of the outage. We are well into the process of making the necessary repairs, but we understand this is a major inconvenience. "No timetable for completion was available as of 10 a.m. Friday". Please be aware some of the information you will see in your accounts has not yet been fully updated from yesterday. "Thank you for your patience as we work diligently to restore your services". This continues to frustrate countless customers who depend on the site to transact business and use electronic banking functions.

BB&T says many of its banking services were unavailable Friday morning because of a technical issue within its system.

BB&T says they'll work with customers on any fees or issues experienced due to the outage once their systems come back online. "At this time, we have no reason to believe this issue is related to cybersecurity".

There are several BB&T Bank locations in Bryan and College Station.

Much of central North Carolina was impacted by the outage, along with the Washingto D.C., Atlanta and Philadelphia regions.
