James Franco Hosted a Dinner for Fellow Best Actor Nominees — Golden Globes

Franco played Tommy Wiseau, Hollywood cult hero of mysterious origins and the force behind the worst-best-film-ever "The Room", in "The Disaster Artist".

Franco thanked Tommy and the many people who worked on the film with him, including Seth Rogen and sister-in-law Alison Brie.

A journalist who recently asked Franco if he was enjoying awards season told him about an Oscar dinner Whoopi Goldberg hosted in the past for female nominees. But the actor's generosity came to a swift end when Wiseau attempted to steal the mic, Kanye-style, prompting Franco to push Wiseau out of the spotlight that the director has, for so long, insisted he deserves.

James scooped the win for his movie The Disaster Artist and brought his brother, Dave, up on stage too as well as Tommy Wiseau. So, I show them. "When I went to NYU, I said I wanted my own Coen brother to create".

Franco scooped the award by beating out Steve Carell for Battle of the Sexes, Ansel Elgort for Baby Driver, Hugh Jackman for The Greatest Showman and Daniel Kaluuya for Get Out. He said to his best friend Greg, 'Golden Globes - so what, I'm not invited. Franco takes on the role of the eccentric director/star/producer Tommy Wiseau, who imagined the original film's lead to be the ultimate tortured manly man man protagonist in the vein of Marlon Brando's roles in his early years. Still, Franco noted, "I'm very happy to share this moment with him today", per the Independent. "I realized I had a Franco brother. Thanks to my mother for giving him to me".
