It will be a long wait for Game of Thrones (GOT) fans as they will have to wait for more than a year to see the final end of the award-winning saga.

The executive producers of the series are David Benioff, D.B. Weiss, Carolyn Strauss, Frank Doelger and Bernadette Caulfield. As the biggest hit in HBO's history, one the subscription service hoped to continue for additional seasons, keeping the show around awhile long isn't a bad thing.

GOT Season 7 was aired over the past summer. The others have all had roles creating the mythical world of author George RR Martin. Writers for the new season are David Benioff & D.B. Weiss, Bryan Cogman and Dave Hill. Co-executive producers are Bryan Cogman, Guymon Casady, Vince Gerardis and George R.R. Martin.

Production on the final season started in October, and filming is expected to last until mid-2018.

The fans are extremely excited for this release, and many already have different ideas about what will happen in the final season.
