Delhi fog: Over 300 flights delayed, 8 cancelled

On Saturday, Delhi recorded a minimum temperature of 7.2 degree Celsius; the maximum temperature was recorded at 22.6 degree Celsius.

Several domestic as well as global flights were affected as fog reduced visibility. So far there have been 4 cancellations, including three domestic and one worldwide flight. In wake of this, several flights are delayed or canceled. "This is so far the worst fog we have experienced this year".

Visibility was reduced to less than 50 mts early in the morning, leading to 56 trains being delayed, 20 rescheduled while 15 had to be cancelled. However, visibility improved during the day, it went up to 2000 meters and the operation became normal, but due to the trouble in the morning, delayed planes were delayed and waiting for six hours. The maximum was likely to hover around 21 degrees. Visibility level fell below the minimum required affecting over 100 flights on Sunday. The visibility came down below 50 metres at the airport.

The Air Quality Index (AQI) at Delhi's Shadipur was recorded at 332, and Siri Fort at 388 - both in the "hazardous" category.
