Samsung unveils Galaxy A8 (2018), A8+(2018) with dual front camera

Since the screen dominates the entire front, the fingerprint sensor is now a rear-mounted unit which is placed underneath the main camera. There are 16 megapixels front camera with f/1.9 aperture and secondary 8 megapixels camera with f/1.9 aperture.

Under the hood, both devices are powered by a Octa-core Exynos 7885 processor coupled with Mali-G71 GPU and running on Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box with proprietary TouchWiz UI on top.

Both the Galaxy A8 (2018), as well as the Galaxy A8+ (2018), features the Infinity Display and boast an aspect ratio of 18.5:9. Galaxy A8 will feature 5.6-inch Full HD AMOLED display while Galaxy A8 Plus comes with 6-inch Full HD AMOLED display with a resolution of 2220x1080 pixels. The smartphone houses a 3,300 mAh battery and offers 4G, VoLTE, 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC and USB Type C as connectivity options. The Galaxy A8+ will also be released in two storage variants - one with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage and the other with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The front, in the case of the Galaxy A8 and Galaxy A8+ 2018, is clean and without any physical buttons.

Samsung launched its most expensive smartphone Galaxy Note 8 in India in September this year. According to leaks, Samsung Galaxy S9's fingerprint scanner will be below the camera, and not next to it as with the current Galaxy S8 series.

The dual selfie camera setup features a 16MP and an 8MP lens, with features such as Live Focus, Bokeh effect, and more.

- The A8 and A8+ 2018 are IP68 certified, which makes them dust and water-resistant and also they comes with Samsung's characteristic Always-on display.

Both the phone support company's Gear VR headset and will be available in four color options, namely, Black, Blue, Gold, and Orchid Grey.

Samsung Galaxy S9 will likely go on sale in March, though the phones will be revealed at CES 2018.
