Trump's Lawyer Denies Reports Mueller Subpoenaed Deutsche Bank Financial Records

In an interview this past July Trump told The New York Times that Mueller would cross a red line if he examined his or his family's finances. Both men admitted to lying to the Federal Bureau of Investigation about their contacts with Russians related to their work for Trump.

"The Washington Post and The New York Times reported Saturday that a lead FBI investigator on the Mueller probe, Peter Strzok, was demoted this summer after it was discovered he'd sent anti-Trump texts to a mistress", the Journal said.

And the Journal said the time has come for Mueller to step down.

"Trump was aware of the issue a couple of weeks before a conversation with then-FBI Director James B. Comey in which Comey said the president asked him if he could be lenient while investigating Flynn, whom Trump had just fired for misleading Pence about the nature of his conversations with the Russian", the Post said.

Mr Trump and Deutsche Bank have not always been on good terms.

Special prosecutor Robert Mueller zeroed in on President Donald Trump's business dealings with Deutsche Bank AG as his investigation into alleged Russian meddling in USA elections widens.

In addition, Manafort and his longtime business associate, Rick Gates, are now facing several felony charges brought by the special counsel's office.

Mueller is investigating alleged Russian attempts to influence the 2016 United States presidential election and potential collusion by Trump aides. "Just more Fake News covering another Comey lie!"

He says he's confirmed "this with the bank and other sources".

During his election campaign, Mr Trump said he would seek to improve ties with Russian President Vladimir Putin, which were strained during former president Barack Obama's administration.

But until Mueller opts to bring his investigation into the public eye, we're unlikely to know for sure whether he's chose to cast his net so broadly.

Mueller, a former Federal Bureau of Investigation director, appears to be moving at a faster pace than previous investigators.

Meanwhile the White House threw new fodder into the mix with Trump lawyer John Dodd saying he drafted the "sloppily worded" December 3 tweet and later saying Mr. Trump could not be guilty of obstruction because he was president and there were questions about whether the president might pardon himself.

Another $733,969 was spent on equipment, but the report does not provide details.
