Prince Harry and Meghan Markle attend first public event together after engagement

Their visit to Nottingham comes four days after Harry and Markle announced their engagement.

Prince Harry and his bride-to-be Meghan Markle have wasted no time in getting back to "the job" following their engagement announcement, taking on their first royal duties together. "It is rare for shows of public affection between William and Kate, but it does happen, for example, they held hands while hiking up to the Tiger's Nest Monastery in Bhutan".

The couple's engagement was announced by Clarence House on Monday, in a statement posted to Twitter.

As the couple met one person in particular, Harry was asked, "how does it feel being a ginger with Meghan?" to which he replied, "It's great, isn't it?"

Per People, a spokesperson at Kensington Palace on Tuesday said that Harry was "looking forward to introducing Ms. Markle to a community that has become very special to him". Harry dished on his proposal to Meghan earlier this week during an interview with the BBC's Mishal Husain. "After all, they are still in the honeymoon stage of their relationship!" As they made their way from stall to stall, the couple looked at ease in their new roles as a working team.

Markle, a longtime actress in America, had been starring on the U.S. drama "Suits" when she began dating Harry, but confirmed after the engagement announcement that she is giving up her acting career.

Alison said: 'He touched me, he curve balled me!' as Ruth encouraged her to chase Meghan Markle next.
