Charlie Rose Is Accused Of Sexual Harassment By Eight Women

Rose was sacked Tuesday from CBS, where he co-hosted "CBS This Morning" and contributed to "60 Minutes", and PBS' "The Charlie Rose Show" after the Washington Post published an article Monday about women who said he groped them and walked around naked in front of them.

They talked in detail about the sexual misconduct allegations against Rose, a television news icon who has co-hosted the morning show since 2012.

During today's broadcast of Megyn Kelly Today, Kelly told the audience that she's "known Charlie for years" and "considered him a friend", thus making this "not a pleasant story" for her.

"A short time ago we terminated Charlie Rose's employment with CBS News, effective immediately".

"These allegations are extremely disturbing and we take them very seriously", CBS News said.

"I deeply apologise for my inappropriate behaviour", he said on Monday.

Reuters could not independently verify the accounts of the women.

Rose, King said, "doesn't get a pass, because I can't stop thinking about the anguish of these women. that and the pain that they're going through".

The Washington Post reports that the allegations include "lewd phone calls, walking around naked in their presence, or groping their breasts, buttocks, and genital areas".

Megan Creydt, who worked on Rose's PBS show in 2005 and 2006, was the third woman to go on the record.

King applauded those who had the courage to speak up against Rose, reiterating that there is no excuse for behavior of that nature.

Reah Bravo, a former associate producer with PBS, told The Washington Post: "He was a sexual predator, and I was his victim".

"In light of yesterday's revelations, PBS has terminated its relationship with Charlie Rose and cancelled distribution of his programs", the public broadcaster said in a statement. "I have learned a great deal as a result of these events, and I hope others will, too". CBS is also suspending Rose from his position as co-anchor of CBS This Morning.

Mr Rose has apologised but said not all the allegations were accurate.

One of the women, Kyle Godfrey-Ryan, alleged that Rose would walk naked around her while she worked as his personal assistant, and claimed he would sometimes describes fantasies about her. "I always felt that I was pursuing shared feelings, even though I now realize I was mistaken", Rose said in a statement to the Post. Kelly confirmed this in Settle for More, which detailed his alleged inappropriate behavior.
