State Bans Use Of E-Cigs In Public Places

When this new measure will be implemented as New York's new law, it will cover vaping in the State's Clean Indoor Air Act. This summer, the State Assembly added e-cigarettes to the state's Clean Indoor Air Act, and the measure was passed by the Senate.

E-cigarettes were banned on all public and private school grounds back in July.

The new law has the support of the American Cancer Society and the American Lung Association.

The Food and Drug Administration banned the sale of e-cigarettes to minors in May 2016, after a broad set of new regulations was put in place.

The now-$2.5 billion e-cig industry continues to grow in popularity, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which says that while the negative health consequences of the product are not widely understood, there are reasons for concern, including nicotine addiction.

"This new law not only protects public health by restricting the use of e-cigarettes and the public's exposure to smoke-cigarette emissions", said Jeff Seyler, the executive vice president of American Lung Association's Northeast region, but also children, for whom the products are "just another tool reeling them into a unsafe and often lifetime of addiction to nicotine".

You are now not allowed to vape anywhere you're not allowed to smoke in New York State.

Electronic nicotine and vapor delivery systems such as e-cigarettes, vaping pens, e-hookah and similar devices, typically contain nicotine.

Today, Governor Cuomo signed additional legislation that could further restrict the use of electronic cigarettes and vapes in indoor public spaces throughout the state.

But proponents of vaping argue that e-cigs are a safer alternative to cigarettes. "They don't feel like doing it anyway because it's obnoxious".

NY is starting to pull the plug on e-cigarettes.

"We're out here trying to help people", Singh said, noting his worries about the impact the ban may have on his customers.
