Jackson Undecided On Browns' Messy Quarterback Situation

DeShone Kizer is a rookie quarterback playing for the Cleveland Browns.

The Browns benched the former Notre Dame quarterback today.

The second-round pick has now turned the ball over an absurd 13 times in less than five full games of action. Jackson said he still believes in Kizer, but he won't tolerate turnovers. For now, the Browns are just attempting to get their second win since December of 2015.

Still, Browns head coach Hue Jackson doesn't want a quarterback controversy and says that you can't compare a first year player like Kizer to Hogan, the latter of whom is used to Cleveland's system. Kizer had completed 8 of 17 passes for 87 yards and 1 interception. He was also charged with a fumble on a botched pitch to Isaiah Crowell on another trip inside the Jets' 10-yard-line as the Browns did everything they could to hurt their chances of taking a lead in the first half. However, Jets safety Marcus Maye jumped the route, corralled the turnover and returned it out to the NY 14-yard line for a 12-yard gain.

Following the penalty, Hogan completed passes of 11 and 12 yards, respectively, as well as a four-yard throw on third-and-three to extend the drive before connecting with Njoku for the touchdown.
