Amber Alert Issued for Richardson Child

Sherin was last seen by her father about 3 a.m. Saturday in the family's back yard in the 900 block of Sunningdale. Fifteen minutes later, when Mathews returned to check on the girl, his daughter was gone, Sgt. Kevin Perlich told the Houston Chronicle.

He waited about five hours before he reported the toddler missing, authorities say.

Law enforcement said they believe Mathews is in grave or immediate danger.

Police say tell KXAS that she has "developmental issues and has limited verbal communication skills".

Mathews, 37, was later arrested and charged with abandoning or endangering a child, a felony. He posted bond late Sunday, according to Perlich.

Wesley Mathews allegedly told police he made his daughter stand in an alley by herself.

Sherin Mathews has been missing since Saturday. Richardson police also stated that Sherin was adopted from an orphanage in India two years ago, NBC5 reported. A CPS spokeswoman, Marissa Gonzales, said the agency has had dealings with the family before, but she declined to release additional information.

Members of the family's church gathered outside of the home Saturday afternoon and said the girl's parents were being interviewed at police headquarters. They also have towed the family auto to search for evidence. She has brown eyes and black hair.

New details have emerged regarding a missing toddler out of Richardson, Texas. He said, "God will reward you".
